# Supabase

> A complete Supabase project, provisioned from your terminal.

```bash
npx extraorbital add supabase
```

One resource gives your project its own Postgres database, authentication, storage,
and realtime APIs. Provisioning can take a few minutes while the database starts.
The same request resumes provisioning rather than creating a second project.

## Connect your app

The CLI writes `SUPABASE_URL`, `NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_URL`,
`NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_ANON_KEY`, `SUPABASE_SERVICE_ROLE_KEY`, and `SUPABASE_DB_URL`.
Projects with new-style keys also expose `NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_PUBLISHABLE_KEY`
and `SUPABASE_SECRET_KEY`.

Use the URL and public key with your Supabase client. Keep service-role, secret,
and database credentials on your backend. Apply row-level security before exposing
application tables to a browser.

## Usage

Compute and storage can accrue costs while the project exists, even without API
traffic. Check the project's usage and budget in the control desk. Use an ephemeral
deadline for experiments that should clean themselves up.
