# Gladia

> Live speech transcription with a managed key and shared project credit.

```bash
npx extraorbital add gladia
```

ExtraOrbital provisions a virtual Gladia key for live session creation and results.
Audio connects directly to Gladia over the returned WebSocket.

## Connect the SDK

The CLI writes `EXTRAORBITAL_GLADIA_KEY` and `GLADIA_BASE_URL`.

```js
import { GladiaClient } from "@gladiaio/sdk";
const client = new GladiaClient({
  apiKey: process.env.EXTRAORBITAL_GLADIA_KEY,
  apiUrl: process.env.GLADIA_BASE_URL,
  httpTimeout: 90_000,
  httpRetry: { maxAttempts: 1 },
});
const session = client.liveV2().startSession({
  encoding: "wav/pcm",
  sample_rate: 16000,
  bit_depth: 16,
  channels: 1,
});
```

Use the session's audio sending and stop methods normally. Keep the virtual key
on your backend and avoid logging session URLs or tokens.

## Usage and lifecycle

Live transcription spends the same credit as your other resources. Insufficient
credit blocks new sessions. Already-open audio connections run to completion.
This integration supports live session creation and results; it does not expose
Gladia's prerecorded upload or account-wide transcript APIs.
